Hockaday Neighborhood Association, Inc.
Founded in 1994 to advance the interests of the
neighborhood, provide pertinent information to the residents and promote
fellowship among its members. The association is bounded on the north
and south by Forest Lane and Northaven Road and on the east and west by
Strait Lane and Midway Road in Dallas, Texas.
A key component of the association is the
Volunteers-in-Patrol (VIP); these volunteers donate their time and
personal vehicles to patrol the area and watch for suspicious activity.
Their marked cars provide a visible presence that deters crime. The
incidence of crime has greatly decreased since the patrols began.
Additional volunteers are always needed. If you are interested, please
call one of the VIP Captains.
Membership in the association is voluntary and it is
noteworthy of the neighborhood that 80 percent of the households have
joined. The annual association dues, which are paid for the calendar
year, support the VIP expenses, publication of newsletters and the
directory, contribute to the Fourth of July parade, and to an annual fall
picnic
Please contact your block captain if you have any questions
or suggestions.
